Montana, Rocky Mountain Front
May 19-21, 2017
These Montana weekend workshops have been very popular over the years and offer an affordable way for beginning and intermediate photographers to explore their photography in some of Montana’s most beautiful locations without the time and financial commitment of a more extended workshop. This workshop on the Rocky Mountain Front is one of Montana’s hidden gems. Located about an hour’s drive from Great Falls, Montana, the Rocky Mountain Front rises up from the plains creating a dramatic scene, a landscape photographer’s paradise. In addition to the incredible landscapes the Rocky Mountain Front also contains some amazing wildlife with some of the largest big horn sheep and elk herds in the lower 48. This workshop is based out of Choteau, Montana and will run from Friday evening through Sunday afternoon.
Friday, May 19
Arrive and meet in Choteau at the Stage Stop Inn for orientation.
Sat-Sun, May 20-21
We will meet early each morning of the workshop, in order to travel to our sunrise destination and spend the morning photographing at various locations, breaking for a late breakfast. In the afternoon, we will gather for an instructional session at the hotel before heading out for an afternoon and evening shoot. The workshop will end on Sunday afternoon.
During each afternoon session, we will cover a variety of topics. We will begin with image critiquing and discuss professional techniques for composition, lighting, and exposure. Next, we will cover editing and workflow management with Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom, taking you through the entire process from capture to print.
