Lamar Valley, Yellowstone

Bison Skull Yellowstone National Park

Last week I spotted this Bison skull setting along the banks of the Lamar river near the northeast corner of the park. Unfortunately there was a grizzly kill nearby and it was not safe to get close enough to photograph. So I checked back this weekend and all was in the clear.  I love being able to find elements like these amongst the landscape as it adds an interesting subject for sure and also shows the natural order of things, especially in Yellowstone.
