This may be the first free time to blog in what seems like forever…
HavingĀ a few free minutes here and thought I would give a quick update on conditions around the state.
Awesome!
That about describes it.
We were down in Yellowstone last week and we spent a couple days in the Madison Valley and the green and wildlife were spectacular. Yellowstone itself looked great, lots of baby bison still running around and flowers starting to come up.Tons of people though. Summer is always tough trying to find solitude there.
Was up in Glacier following, and it was also looking good. The Going to the Sun road is still closed and I couldn’t believe the amount of snow that’s still up there. One of the rangers showed me a picture of some of the snow removal equipment still digging out what looked like gargantuan drifts. They forecast to be open sometime around the first or second week of July they said.
I was up doing some work for a client, so I didn’t get to stay long and headed back down through the Seeley-Swan valley.
It’s always fun driving Highway 83 at night, especially if you like to be kept on your toes. It’s gotta be one of the worst and probably most notorious for running into deer. Luckily I avoided meeting up with any.
The Valley looks awesome and lots of Beargrass coming up around Seeley Lake area and other wildflowers.
Tomorrow I head to the Boulder River south of Big Timber for a few days and will be exploring some new areas.
Hopefully next week I will find a little down time to post some pics. Until then, happy shooting.
Wow! Am I blown away and impressed! I was looking for a photographer and you came up. You have come so far and I couldn’t be happier for you and A and your new son. I think you have a WAY better eye than even Michael Sample. Good Luck Jason!
Jason – great photos! In mid-July we’re heading up to Idaho for fly fishing and then looping back through southeast Montana and Wyoming with several days in Yellowstone. Your photos got me excited about the trip.
We’ve provided a listing to your blog, gallery website and photo tours website on our new website. Our website is http://www.RockiesPhotoAdventures.com with a purpose of “Users Sharing Locations, Events, How To Tips and Photos of Their Adventures in the Rocky Mountains”
