So I had to laugh a couple weeks back. Having just recently traveled all the way up north to Churchill with hopes of getting a nice Snowy Owl image (and to no avail I might add) , what do I spot on a guardrail on the side of a busy highway in Washington state? You guessed it.
We had just finished Thanksgiving with family and were headed home about twenty miles west of Spokane and here’s this Snowy Owl perched alongside the highway looking as content as can be. I think this might have been the only time I intentionally dropped a few expletives in front of my kids. My four year old in the back seat happily seized the opportunity to scold me for my poor choice of grammar of course.
So for the next hour or so we sat on a dirt backroad photographing this amazing owl. I don’t think I stopped smiling the whole drive home.
