Well…I’m still here…haven’t completely abandoned the blogosphere. Been out shoveling snow and chipping ice for days on end. Probably over exaggerating that, but definitely getting my fair share of it.
Winter has finally arrived in Montana and hasn’t come lightly. We were greeted a few weeks ago with some brutal arctic air that hung around until a few days ago.
I don’t think we got much above zero for the last few weeks and now with temps in the teens, it’s starting to feel like a serious heat wave.
I saw a kid riding his bike in shorts today… it was a balmy 15…nice.
If you can get out right now, there is some great photography to be had. The Montana landscape is blanketed in snow and if and when the skies clear up, it’s looks beautiful. With all of this cold it’s also a great time to explore abstract patterns in ice and frost. Lots of cool stuff.
Unfortunately, I’ve been a bit preoccupied with getting our Photography Gallery open in Helena, so I haven’t been able to shoot much in the last month or two, except for a few jobs I was doing… but no fun stuff.
Our gallery should be open in the next week or two, so I will finally have some time to get out there and post some new pics.
I am itching to get out, especially after having upgraded one of my cameras to the new Canon 5d II. It’s a sweet camera at 21 megapixels and so far from what I have seen, it promises some amazing image quality.
In the meantime, get out there and have some fun in the snow and enjoy this great Montana winter we’re having.
